How to Remove a White Heat Ring from a Wood Table

This is, without a doubt, my new favorite party trick.

I found this gorgeous table recently and it needed a little pick me up.  One of the rehab treatments was removing this white heat ring from the wood.

I found this article and tried it.  Yall. It took literally one minute for this table to look brand new.

I turned the iron up to the high temperature and added water to get the steam going.  Meanwhile, I found a clean white rag and folded it in half to double it up.  I placed the rag over the white spot then put the iron on top of that.

I placed the iron directly on the wood, I didn't hover above it.  I pressed the steam button repeatedly to let it get good and steamy.

I removed the rag.

Voila.  Good as new!!!

How incredible, right?!?!

From my reading, I think there is a big difference on how the table is finished to if you will get these results.  Do some research before you do it and maybe try this in a less obvious area of the furniture in case you don't get the same results I did.

Have you ever tried this and had similar results?
