I am coming up on the one year anniversary of Capitol Vintage Charm and sweet sassy moo-lasy, I sho have learned some stuff.

I am hoping to freshen up the look of the Etsy store and start including some furniture.  I am also going to start focusing more on decor items and less on tableware. (But for my tableware lovers, I will still include some items, just not as much as I maybe have in the past).

But, mainly, I am looking to change the purpose of this blog some.  Obviously, vintage is where my heart is.  It will always be what I love. Antiques and vintage items are just so soulful. I feel like they share stories without us even knowing it, you know?

While I could go on endlessly about the difference between this designer and that designer or the difference between crystal and glass, I am finding myself pulled to the decor part of things more and more.  And that is because....

We FINALLY bought a house. (And, sadly...the boat doesn't come with it.)

I am like the 40 Year Old House Virgin.

We threw all caution to the wind and went full on burbs, y'all.  And, with the stupid amount of space we just got...I ain't mad at it.  It defintely needs some landscaping and some touches inside but I am in love with it. I promise to share more pics soon!

I have always considered my style to be eclectically traditional - I have seen this called a million things such as "modern southern" and "preppy eclectic".  And, maybe, I even sneak in a little boho chic from time time time.   I am the girl who wants her momma's china to mix with her grandma's silver and with her CB2 tumblers. And while I feel like you may have gotten a glance of my style in current little rental, Chatteau Shittay, most of what I was trying to do there was put lipstick on a pig. A big, fat, brown, floors starting to rot, Pig.

I think the really exciting part of using vintage is mixing it with modern pieces.  Otherwise, you are living in an antique shop (which, I mean, would sort of be amazing).  But I think that isn't realistic and it doesn't show whimsy and character and depth the way it does when you throw some modern pieces into the mix.

I want to use the blog to showcase more of my eclectic and traditional style and taste. I need this to be a bit more, I don't know, "me".

Will I still try to sneak in a few posts here and there to help identify and restore vintage items? Absolutely! It just may start getting heavy on decor and inspiration as well. But, I swear, my Craigslist posts aren't going anywhere.

I can't tell you how incredibly excited I am to move into this house.  I get overwhelmed each time I walk in and think of the birthday parties and holidays we are going to spend there.  I am just tickled to be able to start making memories...to make a safe and loving home for all my friends and family.

And, ya'll have been both to me.  So, this is a big ole thank you for coming along on my little journey of crazy for the last year.  I really do love ya'll and I can't wait to invite you into my new home!

With love,

Tibby
